JOIN US FOR MENTAL HEALTH DAY 2019

Whether you need an entire day off from work or just an hour to decompress and take care of your mental health needs, we invite you to join us on October 10th to observe Mental Health Day 2019. No tickets are required. This is YOUR day to take care of the most important person in YOUR world - YOU! Please share with and invite friends, family, and co-workers to join!

Everyone has to deal with varying levels of stress. This can be particularly difficult to manage if you also have symptoms of depression or anxiety. When you feel like you're stress levels have reached their peak, it might be time to take a quick break to reset.

For an Effective Mental Health Day:

-Plan to use some of your time off

-Schedule your mental health day for a day you already have off

-If absolutely necessary, call in sick

-Take an hour at lunch

-Take a couple of hours after work

-wake up early and use the time before work

An effective mental health day can help you:

-Destress

-Reset your perspective

-Take a step back to evaluate

-Get a handle on your emotions

-Relax

-Rest

Some things you can try include:

-Taking a walk in nature

-Attending a yoga class

-Swimming at the gym

-Getting a massage

-Reading a good book

-Hanging out with friends

-Taking a day trip to a favorite place

Things NOT to Do

-Binge-watch TV

-Avoid friends and family

-Smoke, drink, or use other substances

-Overeat unhealthy foods

-Ruminate or wallow in negative emotions

-Spend all day reading posts on social media

World Mental Health Day is a day for global mental health education, awareness and advocacy against social stigma. It was first celebrated in 1992 at the initiative of the World Federation for Mental Health, a global mental health organization with members and contacts in more than 150 countries.
